SR. PAULINE (1907 – 1989)
Sr. Pauline was an Anglo-Indian from Quilon. As a young sister, she was sent to Ochenthuruth to take charge of the Infant Jesus L.P. School where she remained till her retirement. As a teacher and headmistress she was much appreciated by the teachers and parents. She knew every student by name. She was a soft-spoken person and naturally kind. Under all circumstances she remained calm and pleasant. She reached out to everyone in need be it students, teachers or those in the neighborhood. As a good teacher she was hard-working and sought perfection in whatever she did.
As a religious she was careful about her spiritual life and was a good community person. She undertook the work of making hosts for the parish church and continued it till ill health prevented her from doing so. She was a chronic asthma patient. She found time to pray quietly by herself and was often before the Blessed Sacrament. When she came to Ernakulum she spoke to everyone so pleasantly and her person exuded the serenity that was in her.
On July 7th 1989, she got a severe attack of Asthma and was rushed to the hospital, where she died very peacefully.
